Ryan Dennis

Entrepreneur. Creative thinker. Brand engagement specialist.

I build businesses and experiences around one simple idea: people remember how you make them feel. My work sits at the intersection of sales, psychology, technology, events and human behaviour.

About Ryan

Entrepreneur first. Experience specialist by obsession.

Ryan Dennis is a British entrepreneur and event activation specialist based in London. He is the founder of Photobooths London and BXP — Brand Experience Partnership, and co-founder of Quirky Hire.

His career began in sales, from door-to-door fundraising and customer service to health and fitness, telecommunications and B2B sales. That practical background shaped the way he thinks about events today: people engage with people before they engage with businesses.

Ryan left school without GCSE qualifications and built his career through communication, curiosity, self-development and an instinct for spotting opportunity. His personal philosophy is simple: mindset is everything.

Brand engagement psychology

The equipment is not the experience.

Ryan believes brands often make one basic mistake: they put a piece of equipment in a corner and expect engagement to happen by itself. Successful activations remove hesitation, create energy and give people a reason to participate.

01

Attract

Give people a clear reason to stop. Visual impact, relevance and curiosity create the first interaction.

02

Engage

Make participation simple, welcoming and human. Great hosts can be as important as the technology.

03

Remember

Create a moment worth keeping, sharing or repeating. If people come back for another go, the experience worked.

“If somebody walks away thinking, ‘I enjoyed that’, the brand becomes part of that positive memory.”

Businesses

Three businesses. One thread: engagement.

Trade shows & exhibitions

Why should somebody stop?

Trade shows are one of Ryan's biggest areas of interest. Companies can spend heavily on beautiful stands and still fail to answer the most important question: why should somebody stop?

Ryan sees interactive experiences as the bridge between attention and commercial conversation. The activation creates the approach. The approach creates interaction. Interaction creates conversation. Conversation creates opportunity.

His long-term aim is to become a recognised authority on brand engagement, experiential psychology and event activation strategy, particularly across exhibitions, trade shows, pop-ups and experiential campaigns.

Selected case

Solving the brief, not just supplying equipment.

Tripadvisor

From a space problem to an AI destination experience.

When Tripadvisor initially approached Ryan about a magazine-style activation, the available stand space was too limited for the original concept to work comfortably.

Instead of forcing the equipment into the space, Ryan recommended an AI-powered destination photo experience using digital background removal. The revised concept used the existing stand more efficiently, improved circulation and created stronger audience engagement.

The success of that activation led to a further booking in Paris for a destination campaign promoting Abu Dhabi at a major European travel exhibition attended by more than 10,000 people.

Personal philosophy

Mindset is everything.

Ryan regularly wears an orange bracelet carrying those words. It is a reminder that mindset affects behaviour, behaviour affects output and output affects results.

His instinct when presented with a problem is not to begin with why it cannot work. He starts by finding the route that makes it possible — an “I can do” attitude that runs through his businesses and the experiences he creates.
